What is LPG/Endermologie?

Cellulite is one of the more difficult problems to combat. Previously treatments like Liposuction, which involves removing fat cells through mechanical agitation and suction, was used remove cellulite. However in 1998 a non-surgical cellulite treatment technology called Endermologie® was introduced to South Africa from France.

Endermologie is a non-invasive treatment designed to reduce the appearance of cellulite and improve skin tone without pain or discomfort. The technique was used initially to treat scars in patients who had suffered burns, to soften the scars and improve elasticity and mobility of the scarred skin. However in the course of these treatments, an additional benefit was revealed which was an improvement in the appearance of cellulite. Since being launched in South Africa clients have been queuing up for the treatment.

Endermologie utilizes aspiration, produced by a vacuum pump, to suck the skin up between two motorized rollers into a fold or pleat. This fold is then kneaded by the two rollers attached to the treatment head. Because the suction level is electronically controlled, the rollers constantly adjust themselves to the thickness of the patient's skin. As the treatment progresses, the skin becomes more supple and elastic, causing the rollers to adapt and reach increasingly deep layers.

Endermologie/LPG improves the circulation by increasing blood and oxygen flow to the suffocated cellulite tissues. This in turn accelerates the drainage of the stagnant waste products of metabolism via the lymphatic system and the fine blood capillaries. The metabolism of the fat cells is improved, encouraging them to lose some of their contents and thus shrink in size.

The original device which performs Endermologie was the first system in the world to be recognised by the FDA as a proven solution to cellulite and body contouring. Endermologie has been the subject of many clinical trials with ongoing research and scientific studies continue to reveal outstanding results

At Beauty Estiteca we use the Cellu M6 Keymodule. The 'Keymodules' are sets of rollers, designed to target specific problems, such as cellulite, loose skin (e.g. on tummies after pregnancies) and localized fat (e.g. 'lovehandles' and inner thigh bulges. )Each roller is fitted with a miniaturized, high-technology motor which help the rollers move at independent speeds, to produce the correct skin fold to treat the problem. This allows the therapist to obtain a large variety of skin folds in terms of their shape, depth and thickness.

The Endermologie/LPG course involves the minimum of fourteen to twenty treatment sessions of 35 to 45 minutes duration.
